I Read the News Today...Oh Boy!

There is nothing much good in the news. It seems that reading it and staying abreast of goings on in the world is an invitation to put a damper on an otherwise pleasant mood.

I think I shall instead put on some Christmas music, brew a fresh pot of mighty fine coffee, see what other decking of the halls I can do, and wrap Christmas presents.

The temperature is dropping, and snow is in the forecast. I'd rather be merry.

No news is good news today.

After all, I cannot change the world this afternoon.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. [KJV]

Disappointed

I hate to admit it, but I'm disappointed. This hasn't been a bad day per se, but it hasn't been all that great either. Life is good, but I'm not a happy camper. Some days are just like that. Bleah.

"I Wish I Had a Million Dollars!"

Today is one of those days when, in the words of George Bailey, from "It's a Wonderful Life," I wish I had a million dollars. Of course money can't buy you love or happiness, but it would be fun to see how far it could go in trying.

Seriously, I saw a house that just came on the market. It's not perfect, but it meets an awful lot of the requirements on my wish list. It costs less than we paid for our present house too, but it's not like we could realistically sell our house and move right now anyway. That's why it would be nice to have a million dollars . . .

I think this is one of those times where, like George Bailey, I would be well-advised to see the blessing in what I have all around me now. It's fun to dream a little though, and sometimes dreams DO come true. After all, we don't know that George & Mary Bailey resided in the house at 320 Sycamore ALL of their lives ...

I wish I had a million dollars! HOT DOG!

Why This Blog is Called, "Letters to No One"

This isn't a very exciting post, but for the person who stumbles upon this blog and wonders what it's all about, with a blog name like, "Letters to No One," and a url proclaiming "addressee unknown," well, this blog is something I did for myself. It is essentially "letters" in the form of blog posts written by me to no one in particular.
